Istanbul is a colorful world with many beautiful attractions. My best friend Lisa persuaded me to visit this mysterious city of Turkey. I had never visited Turkey before, so this was all a new experience for me. I must admit that I was a little doubtful about Istanbul, but once we visited it, we never regretted. We first booked an Istanbul hotel. We were careful to choose a centrally located one as we didn’t know the city at all. Best Western Obelisk Hotel Istanbul was just the right hotel we were looking for.

We started sightseeing from the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia and the Grand Bazaar as these were the nearest attractions to our hotel. The ceramics inside the Blue Mosque which was also called Sultanahmet Mosque were really impressive. At the very moment we stepped in to the mosque, we were as if stepped into a different world, different planet. We could also observe the sacred ceremony of people all kneeling down and standing up at the same time. The mosque was fantastic with just one word.

It was very exciting to walk through Istiklal Avenue. It was a pedestrian street full of bookstores, art galleries, night clubs, boutiques and restaurants. I think the music never stops on Istiklal Avenue. We liked the lively atmosphere of the street very much.

Then we took a stroll along the shore. The view was simply breathtaking. We saw the Maiden’s Tower in the middle of the sea. Bosphorus had such a beauty that we didn’t want to return to our hotel that night.

We couldn’t have left Istanbul before experiencing a Turkish bath. It was an amazing feeling. We really felt that we got clean! After that hot experience, you feel relaxed and away from stress.

These were just a few of what Istanbul offered. There are still many to be explored. Istanbul is a dream city that everyone must visit one day.
