One of the most famous castles on Czech Republic, the Cervana Lhote Castle stands at the middle of a lake on a rocky island with its “romantic red appearance.” The name Cervana Lhote means “red village”, which explains the castle’s red exterior.
The castle is said to date back to the 13th or 14th century and once featured a Gothic style. It underwent several modifications and was transformed to various types of architecture including Renaissance, baroque and Neo-gothic.
Today, Cervana Lhote Castle is declared a National Monument. Thousands of visitors flock here to take a look at the centuries-old castle and its beautiful surroundings. You can also hire boats near the chateau and row across the fishpond.
