I had a lovely trip to Budapest recently. It was an amazing, fascinating and beautiful city that I did not want to ever leave!

The wonderful scenery of the Buda Castle on the downtown at nights, crazy nightlife, historical streets make you fall in love with the city.

Budapest is a combination of two different cities on the both sides of Danuba River – Buda on the west bank of the river and Pest on the east bank.

Hungarians are proud of Budapest. This lovely ancient city has many contributions to Europe culture. Because the city lies both sides of the river, there were several beautiful bridges that combines one side to the other. The transportation is not a problem in Budapest. You can reach many places on foot but if you want, the metro lines and buses are also ready for you. I myself choose to walk unless I don’t have to go far away. You must visit Buda, Pest and Castle Hill to see the major attractions of the city. The most popular sights of the Castle Hill were the Royal Palace, Mary Magdalene Tower and Matthias Church as I remember. And there was an undeground labyrinth – Buda Castle Labyrinth. I joined a guided tour to see it.

If you want to relax a little bit, you can visit Margaret Island. The island has beautiful gardens for relaxing in a sunny day.

In the downtown of Pest, you must see the Parliament Building, St. Stephen Cathedral and Great Synagogue and the Jewish Museum.

Looking for some adventures like me? I recommend you to join a cave walking in the Buda Hills but be careful that your guide can speak English

One of the best parts of a trip for me – shopping! There were numerous places where you could do shopping till you faint!! Vaci utca is the premier shopping street of Hungary but it was a bit expensive. There was Great Market Hall – worth to visit. Another mall, West End City Center was said to be the largest in Central Europe. You can find over 400 shops there. And also the other shopping malls were existed such as Mammut 1&2, EuroPark, Arkad, and Duna Plaza. These were all have easily accessible by metro

If you are interested in wines, I highly recommend you pay a visit to Gundel 1894 Food and Wine Cellar. It also offers a series of wine-tasting courses. The wines were delicious, high quality and also much more cheaper than many restaurants in Budapest

I highly recommend everyone to visit Budapest and if I had time, I will surely go back!
