Recioto della Valpolicella
Recioto della Valpolicella 2003 14%Vol. – Azienda agricola Villa Canestrari.
In our opinion one of the most important wine is Recioto della Valpolicella.
The grapes harvested and vinified are the same used to produce the other local famous wines of Verona (Amarone and Valpolicella): Corvina, Rondinella, Molinare varieties. We are now going to present you a good expression of the RECIOTO DELLA VALPOLICELLA: Recioto della Valpolicella D.O.C. wine yard 2003 14% Vol.. The producer is Azienda Agricola Villa Canestrari. The predominant production area is Colognola ai Colli 200 mt. of altitude. In our glass it appears dense, dark ruby-violet. The full and various aromas quickly opens up with a intense spicy notes of vanilla, pepper, cherry jam, cinnamon, blackberry fruits. An intense and fine bouquet that closes with chocolate and incense notes.
It is balanced and round in the mouth, show sweet and concentrate and well-integrated tannins that balance it sweetness. All flavour smelt will be perfectly confirmed once you drink it. In the end the wine leaves the plum and fig notes and a long long end and persistence.

This wine is ideal with the local tiramisu “di riso” but generally in all cakes with chocolate. I also suggest you to try it with strong cheeses served with jams or mostard. Personally I prefer drinking it without abinement simply at the end of a good dinner.
